Discover a magical world for under 11s: a family festival of spectacular underground shows and events for families.
Join us for a magical day out with fantastic shows and free festivities. As well as circus, magic, theatre and comedy we have storytelling, games, live music, interactive installations, face painting, a baby space and more! Our 2016 festival programme includes the stunning Pirates of the Carabina, a new show commission from Trygve Wakenshaw, poetry with Roger McGough and installations by Tim Spooner and Fevered Sleep. We have a new baby offer, with an under 3s dance show from Lithuania and free soft play. Stay and play all day with pirates, clowns, magicians and jellyfish! Dance to an exquisite line-up of DJs and bands, and get involved with amazing art adventures, and try something bonkers like beatboxing or family palm reading, all in the magnificent maze of caves and caverns under Waterloo station. Make Music Workshop!
Sat & Sun, 27th & 28th Feb, 10.30am, All Ages. Join Dave in the Cavern and explore the world of sound in an immersive sonic adventure. Through a series ensemble exercises we’ll create forests, storms, and much much more!
Keep Fit Fandango
Sat 27th Feb, 2pm, All Ages. Keep Fit Fandango are Bristol’s bassiest exercise group – here to help you lose your troubles, your marbles, and nearly infinite calories in a riot of dance, colour and electronic beats.
Night At The Theatre
27th & 28th Feb, 1pm, 4+. Sssh! Sit quietly in your seats, wait for the performance to begin and… dance in the aisles, dance in your seat, dance all the way home! accessible theatre for everyone, so come along, join in and let’s make a dance!
Sat 27th Feb, 11am, 6+. Simon brings himself, his keytar and his electronic buttons to create a whirlwind of madcap entertainment. Expect nonsensical rapping, improvised songs, furious energy, laughter and pure joy!
5th March: Under The Sea Mini Rumpus!
A non-stop, tip-top, over-the-top animalistic, carnivalistic party extravaganza for Under 11’s and their adults!
Magical mayhem, mischievous mystery and musical fun!
After 6 years of unsurpassed joymongering, London’s most celebrated party crew join Mini VAULT to bring their trademark dancefloor shenanigans to families with this fantastically-funfilled event!
Get creative and transform yourselves into a sea creature, as this event is all about the dressing up! Prepare yourselves for a musical procession and a live performance by the completely extraordinary and twisted brass band Perhaps Contraption; take a ringside seat for incredible circus acts and hula-hooping with Marawa’s Majorettes and join the internationally celebrated Rumpus Kazoo Orchestra!
Mini Rumpus is an immersive family event with live bands and dazzling performances. Dance all day, see a show and get involved with crazy craft activities!
Let your marine imagination run wild and dress up in your most fabulously fishy fancy dress to experience the sparkliest party in town!

Do I have to pay to enter the festival?
Entry is free on our Festival Weekends: 30 & 31 January | 13 & 14 February | 27 & 28 February On 6 February and 5 March we have our parties, Big Fish Little Fish Rave and Mini Rumpus party. Entry for this is ticketed and you will not be able to enter the venue without paying. We recommend you booking in advance as these events are likely to sell out! Where is Mini VAULT Festival?
We are in the tunnels under Waterloo Station: The Vaults, Leake Street, SE1 7NN.
Exit Waterloo station via Exit 1, next to Platform 1. Turn right out of Exit 1. Continue straight for 100m until you come to a set of stairs, walk down the stairs and turn right onto Leake Street, the graffiti tunnel. The Vaults will then be visible on your right hand side. If arriving via Waterloo East, walk to Waterloo main station and follow instructions above.
Exit station onto Waterloo Road, Sainsbury’s landmark opposit exit. Turn right towards Old Vic Theatre. At Old Vic Theatre crossroads turn right onto Bayliss Road. Turn right onto Lower Marsh, market and local shops road. Continue straight for 100m until you come to a ramp on your right hand side going underground onto Leake Street. The Vaults will be visible on your right hand side.
Exit onto Leake Street via York Road. Opposite London Eye landmark. Closest parking available at U-Park, 2 Addington Street, SE1 7RY
What are the age restrictions? Do young children need tickets?
Each show has different age guidelines and restrictions. ‘Guidelines’ have been put in place to give you indication of content and suitability. ‘Restrictions’ mean that children under a certain age will not be admitted to the show. For the show Puzzle, babies of all ages need tickets. For everything else, all children over the age of 1 need to have a ticket.
